TGTET January 2026 Notification!
Telangana Teacher Eligibility Test (TG TET) is organized by the Department of School Education, Government of Telangana, to assess the qualifications of candidates seeking teaching roles in primary (Classes I-V) and upper primary (Classes VI-VIII) levels across government, aided, and private institutions. The most recent notification for the TG TET January 2026 session was issued on November 14, 2025, under reference number 3153-1/TGTET-January-2026. As of November 17, 2025, this notification remains active.
Eligibility Criteria:
Paper I (Classes I-V), candidates must possess an Intermediate (or equivalent) degree with a minimum of 50% marks and should have either completed or be in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed), Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed), or a 4-year B.A./B.Sc.Ed or B.A. Ed/B.Sc. Ed, all of which must be recognized by the NCTE.
Paper II (Classes VI-VIII), candidates are required to hold a B.A., B.Sc., or B.Com degree with at least 50% marks and must have either completed or be in the final year of a 2-year D.Ed in a specific subject or a B.Ed. Those with integrated degrees such as B.A. Ed or B.Sc. Ed are also eligible. Additionally, there is a provision for a 5% relaxation in the minimum marks for candidates belonging to SC/ST/BC or those who are differently abled.
Candidates currently in their final year of a Bachelor of Education or Diploma in Elementary Education are eligible to take the TGTET Examination. However, it is important to note that they cannot use the TGTET certificate to participate in the Teacher Recruitment Test until they have obtained the necessary qualifications.

Application Process:
Applications must be submitted online only. Follow these steps:
- To apply for the TG TET January 2026, candidates must complete the online application process exclusively through the Official Website
- Begin by clicking on the Online Application link and registering with your email and mobile number to create your login credentials.
- After logging in, provide your personal information, academic background, and exam preferences, indicating whether you wish to take Paper I, Paper II, or both.
- Ensure to upload a scanned passport-sized photograph, your signature, and any other required documents.
- Finally, proceed to pay the application fee using available online methods such as Net Banking, Credit/Debit Card, or UPI, then submit your application
- Download the acknowledgment for your records.
Application Fee:
Candidates who confirm their eligibility for the TGTET are required to pay a fee of Rs. 750 (Rupees Seven Hundred and Fifty only) if they are registering for either Paper I or Paper II. For those intending to take both Paper I and Paper II, the fee is Rs. 1000 (Rupees One Thousand Only).
Exam Pattern:
The examination will be conducted online in both English and Telugu, with a total duration of 2 hours and 30 minutes allocated for each paper. Candidates will encounter 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), each valued at one mark, and there will be no penalties for incorrect answers.
The first paper comprises sections on Child Development & Pedagogy, Language I, Language II, Mathematics, and Environmental Studies, with 30 questions dedicated to each subject.
The second paper also includes Child Development & Pedagogy, Language I, and Language II, but features a more extensive subject-specific section, offering 60 questions focused on either Mathematics & Science or Social Studies.

Validity of TET Certificate:
TET qualifying certificates for appointments will remain valid for life, unless the Government of Telangana issues a different notification.
