UPSC IFS Prelims Syllabus:
Paper – l (200 marks) Duration: 2 Hrs
* Current events of National & International.
* Indian History & I N M
* Indian & world Geography-Physical, Social, Economic Geography of India & the world.
* Indian Polity and Governance-Constitution, Political System, Panchayat Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues.
* Economic Social Development-Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector Initiatives
* General Issues on Environmental ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change – that do not require subject specialization.
* General Science.
Paper – ll (200 marks) Duration: 2 Hrs
* Comprehension
* Interpersonal skills including communication skills
* Logical reasoning and analytical ability
* Decision making and problem solving
* General mental ability
* Basic numeracy, Data interpretation.
Educational Qualification: Graduation in particular Science Subjects only
Vacancies: The number of vacancies to be filled on the results of the examination is expected to be
approximately 150.

OBC-NCL: 3 Years
PwBD: 10 Years

I) Prelims Exam Consist of 2 papers (MCQ’s) 200 marks of each paper
a) G.S paper-l merit base
b) G.S paper-ll qualifying paper (33%)
II) Mains Exam Consist of 6 papers (Written Exam)
Paper-l General English 300 Marks
Paper-ll General Knowledge 300 Marks
Papers-lll, lV, V and Vl each 200 marks
Note: Select Any two subjects out of 15 subjects. Paer ll (G.K) will be evaluated
Personality Test – 300 Marks
Grand Total – 1400 Marks.
