NLC India Limited (NLCIL) a Navratna Public Sector Enterprise operating under the Ministry of Coal has announced Official Notification PDF  for the recruitment of Graduate and Technician (Diploma) Apprentices for the 2025-26 period. This initiative falls under the Apprentices (Amendment) Act of 1973 and provides a one-year apprenticeship training program for candidates who have obtained their degrees or diplomas in designated engineering and technology disciplines between 2021 and 2025. The training will take place at the Learning & Development Centre located in Neyveli, Tamil Nadu.

Apprentices Details:

The total number of training slots available is 575 which includes 357 positions for Graduate Apprentices and 218 for Technician Apprentices. Each training program spans a duration of one year, or 12 months across all disciplines.

Eligibility Criteria:

Graduate Apprentices (Category I): Candidates must possess a full-time degree in Engineering or Technology from a recognized statutory university or an institution authorized by an Act of Parliament, or an equivalent qualification acknowledged by the State or Central Government.

Technician Apprentices (Category II): Applicants are required to hold a full-time diploma in Engineering or Technology from a State Council or Board of Technical Education, a university, or an equivalent qualification recognized by the State or Central Government.

Stipend Details:

The training program spans one year (12 months) across all disciplines offering a monthly stipend of ₹15,028 for Graduate Apprentices, which includes ₹4,500 funded by the Government through the DBT scheme. Technician Apprentices  the stipend is ₹12,524, with ₹4,000 provided by the Government under the same scheme. It is important to note that completing the training does not ensure any temporary or permanent employment with NLCIL.

Geographical Eligibility:

Candidates must be residents of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Kerala, or the Union Territories of Pondicherry to be eligible. It is essential that applicants have not previously participated in or are currently engaged in apprenticeship training at NLCIL or any other organization.

Selection Process:
  1. The selection process is based on merit by the percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying Degree or Diploma.
  2. The calculation of marks follows the specific method established by the respective university or institution.
  3. For candidates awarded grades or CGPA, the percentage equivalence is obtained by multiplying the CGPA by 10. In cases where marks are provided on a semester basis, the average from the second year to the final year is considered, while for year-wise marks, the same averaging method applies.
  4. In the event of a tie at the cut-off, preference will be given to older candidates based on their date of birth. It is important to note that any exaggeration of marks will result in disqualification.
